project gratitude: 1201
December 1- Today I am grateful for all the lovely kids and parents I caught up with at my old work school fete. It's nice to be remembered and to be spoken well of. :)
December Daily: foundation pages
It is the first of December and I am very excited to be starting my December Daily once again. This will be my forth book but my third completed one. Here is a link to some of my favourite pages from 2011.
Over the past few weeks I've been working on my foundation pages and really enjoying the process. This year I found a sweet Christmas golden book from an op-shop to use as my cover. The actual story will be saved for December 24. Most of the papers were 70% off from a local scrapbooking shop and the rest are bits and pieces from my stash. When I plan this book I always do so with some awareness of what is happening in the month. I know that there are events on certain dates so I usually plan the foundation pages with those in mind. Other dates are left more plain and can easily be adapted if needed. Here are the pages!
I love that I've been able to sew some of Tilly's Christmas stocking fabric onto the Dec 24 page.
Now to fill these pages and make another book to love!

November 30- Today I am grateful that God gives us prayer. Tilly's not 100% at the moment which has left me feeling pretty wrecked. When I have no strength it's good to trust in Him through my prayers and those of loved ones.

November 28- Today marks one year since I stopped teaching at school. It has gone so very quickly. I am grateful to be in a position where this is possible and that I get to stay at home with Tilly for longer.

Matilda the bookworm
This is what I walked into Tilly's room to discover this afternoon!
We had enjoyed a fun (and noisy!) visit with our mother's group and were beginning the wind down for her afternoon sleep. Both Tilly and I went to the front of the house, I to my bedroom to collect something and she to hers. When I returned not long after, this is what I saw.
A quiet, content Tilly, nestled amongst her books, slowly turning the pages and taking each one in before moving onto the next book. She would sometimes go back to an earlier book to reread it and then move on once more.
It made me so happy to see her loving her books. I emailed the photo to Toby and he replied saying "looks like Tilly might be a book worm!" Although she is becoming more of an extrovert, I'm glad that she also knows when she needs some quiet time out and that she is happy to have some alone time occasionally.

November 27- Today I am grateful for the wonderful mums that we have in our mother's group and for the fun that we have when we are together.

her favourite
Really, does it get any better than this? I'm not sure that it does, for Tilly at least!
We introduced Tilly to the swing a little over a month ago and it has since remained a favourite when we visit a park. She smiles as soon as she is seated and finds such joy in simply swinging back and forth. I think that she loves to watch us rocking near and far too (and occasionally kicking us with her bare feet).
I love these photos. They may be some of my favourites of Tilly. She looks so 'her'. They capture her everyday faces and her cheeky personality.

November 25- Today I am grateful for the chance to celebrate Jack's first birthday with his close friends and family. I feel blessed to be included in a group like this and to have made a special friend in Haley this year.
