Fill the blank: right now

1.   Blogging is   a way that I receive creative inspiration and that I record the events in my life- both for me and for others.  It's amazing to me that people choose to stop by and read my thoughts!

2.  A current fashion trend I wish I was brave enough to wear is... Hmm... I can't say that I'm really a fashionista. I tend to wear what I like rather than what's the fashion.

3.  My greatest accomplishment in life thus far is buying my first home and marrying an awesome many who loves me to bits and I adore him too. xoxo

4.  If I had to choose between a mountain or a beach vacation I'd choose the beach today. It would be lovely to chill out in a hammock for a few days.

5.  A talent I wish I had is not caring about what others think of me and not guessing what people think.

6.  A talent I do have is singing and being creative.

7.  This week has been long and challenging!

Spring... Where art thou?

Mental! Melboune has been putting on some gorgeousness in terms of springy weather, but this morning this is what I wake to see!

Hail, puddles, grey skies and frosty window paynes. The ducted heating has been called back into action with the inside temperature reaching 7 degrees by morning. Brrrr!

Springtime, please come back!

I like Fridays... a lot!

Thank you Lark for selling this gorgeous bag... I think that I need one... especially after this week!
We're thinking of going up to see the tulips on the weekend some time if this rain lets up.

What's on for your weekend?
Anything exciting happening in your world?

For the love of Pete

I'm not exactly sure who Pete was, but today was one of those days where I wanted to use his name in the above sentence.

Between lovely children acting feral, meetings, deadlines (and that's just school) today was one I'd rather forget.

Things will improve. One day at a time. It's all sorted.

Hope that yours was better than mine!

4 simple goals... October update

4-simple-goals

So a while back I decided to participate in Elsie's 4 simple goals for the rest of the year.

My original post is back here, but these are the things I committed to back then. Things have been a wee bit mental since August when I signed up, but that probably makes it even more important to keep on top of these goals.

1.  Take more photos!
I'm certainly using my iPhone still to take lots of pics. In fact, lots of the blog pics are taken on ye-olde iPhone. I know it's not ideal, but here's the thing... my camera battery is dead, and the charger is *somewhere* in a box, either in our garage or at mum and dad's. Perhaps I will find it some time in December!?  I did however take some photos of my nephews on Sunday and I'm looking forward to getting them off the camera soon.

2.  Get more active.
Hmm... does it count if the intention to be more active is there? ;) I've been playing netty once a week (3rd game tonight) which is a good start, and I've gone on a few little walks lately. The warmer weather is looming and I want to be comfortable when the singlet tops come out. More action required!

3.  Enjoy right now.
I'm doing OK in this. There are some big things coming up for us- our move, still selling our home now, we're going to leave our current home church in a few weeks (sob sob), so there's lots of changes. Oh, and I only have a little under 2 months left as a twenty-something. :)
The good thing, is that even though I have moments where I feel a bit teary or flat, I am generally feeling a real peace about where we're at for now.

4.  Keep creative.
Yes, this one is taking a bit of a back seat to life at the moment. But I am enjoying getting some creativity out through the blog and some doodling from time to time.

Has anyone else joined in on this challenge?
Do you wanna?
It's not too late! :)
Let me know with a comment if you're playing along too!

xoxo

Notebook

How I love thee.
You arrive in my letterbox every month and keep me entertained until the next one comes.
A gift from a wonderful ex-student and his lovely mum.
It reminds me that I am valued and of how special it is to teach. I can't wait to tackle this soon. ...Now,what to do when this subscription ends?

Finding the peace

I write this sitting up in bed, laptop on my lap, with Tobes sleeping beside me. We've had a lovely dinner with my parents, brother, sister in law and their two boys- playing and crafting together and eating lots of yummy goodies. Ty spent his time walking around in his new shoes. He enjoyed a crumb of wedding cake from a wedding mum and dad went to on the weekend. Coops and I did some drawing and writing together- I am amazed at how quickly kids take on new learning. He's in Prep and is sounding out letters really well for where he should be (I used to teach Prep too!).

We had our auction yesterday and the result isn't what we'd hoped for. We passed the property in with a vendor bid and no other bidders. A bit discouraging, but in some ways we were not surprised as the market really seems to be slowing down. However, there is some new and pre-existing interest so the campaign continues and we get to trust God for a little longer. We have a real peace about it and know that it will all work out.

Before the auction yesterday we walked up to the shops at the top of our street to get some lunch. We passed this little ring of daisy type weeds flowers on the way up the hill and I thought they were so very sweet. So I will leave you with them my friends, even in the shape of a heart! :)

What did your weekend hold?
