Fill the blank: Random

1.   The first thing I do in the morning to start my day is  check the time, look at facebook, google reader and email on my iphone. And give Tobes a snuggle.

2.  Today I wish I was  aware of what will happen at the auction tomorrow! Lying by a beach on a hammock in the sun would also be lovely.

3.  If I had an extra $100 in my bank account today I'd  buy some lovely cook books or have a massage.

4.  Tomorrow    I hope that we will sell our home and enjoy some celebrations. :)

5.  Two things that don't go together are  pride and trust.

6.  Something I can never pass up at the grocery store is a good price on everyday items- tinned chickpeas, tinned tomatoes, rice crackers, toiletries,  rocket... I'm boring I know!

7.  The last time I tried something new was   earlier this week... but I can't share it here! ;)

Enjoy your weekends!

Newbies

Good old Pip from Meet me at Mikes has decided to open her virtual doors today to us new bloggers, less than 1 year old. I'm up to blogger number 40 and already I've added some subscriptions to my google reader. So much talent out there!
Pop on over and have a look. :)

Pre-Nesting

Are you a nester? I know that I am.

I feel most settled when I know where everything is, when I know where I can get good coffee and which aisle to find my favourite items at the supermarket. I like to know where the best take away places are and the short cut streets around the neighbourhood. When I know the neighbours and when I can walk through my house at night with all the lights out and not knock into any walls!

I crave being settled and feeling at home.

Living where I have for over 3 years means that I'm pretty much all over that stuff here.  There's not much mystery. Occasionally I discover something or somewhere new, and that's exciting, but I mostly like that I know it so well.

Preparing for a new move means that I'm doing what I like to call, 'pre-nesting'.

I've had a bit of extra time on my hands, being on school holidays, and I've found myself enjoying bits of my new neighbourhood, discovering parts of the area and trying to become familiar enough with it so that when we move, it will feel more like home.

I've been googling to try and find the best cafe (not much luck I'm afraid) and take away places (ditto). I've been a bit spoiled I'm afraid and I'm used to good quality, reasonably priced things. Moving a little further out changes things, but that's OK, my current home area isn't that far away.

What about you? I know you're out there! ;)

Do you pre-nest?
