Fill the blank: Me...

1. I am  Tobys's wife, a daughter, sister, auntie and friend. I am a child of God and one who is grateful for Jesus. I am a teacher, a wanna-be-mum, a scrapbooker and a creative soul.

2.  The bravest thing I've ever done was write Tobes an email pretty much putting it all on the line and asking him what he thought. It was also one of the best things I've ever done.

3.  I feel prettiest when I am truly happy and when Tobes tells me he loves me... though today I am also reminded that I feel pretty when my hair is freshly cut & coloured!

4.  Something that keeps me awake at night is  frustration. I hate to admit that, but when I feel forgotten or hurt or frustrated I can find it hard to settle.

5.  My favorite meal in the entire world is hard to choose! I love bruschetta, and authentic pizza, a good steak, grilled salmon, dumplings, sorbet, chicken parma and chips ... is that too much to have in one meal?

6.  The way to my heart is through being loving and kind.

7.  I would like to be a mum. Patience is a virtue. Enjoy the time we have now. Remind me that I wanted to be a mum when it's all happening and too hard please!  :)

A quick layout

I threw this together tonight and wanted to post this terrible picture of it quickly- I'll post a proper one soon. I really like how quickly it came together. I've been 'embracing imperfection' through a BPS class and I'm enjoying it. It's been a LONG time since I've scrapbooked alone, but I felt the creative urge and this came together in about 30 mins. Love! :)

for the weekend so that  I can

  • sleep in
  • get my haircut
  • get out of the city
  • celebrate mum's birthday
  • take some time out
  • do some cooking
  • take some photos
  • not think about work!
What's ahead for your weekend?

Welcome Nathan Alexander

Here he is. I had the treat last night of meeting this lovely young man. Master Nathan Alexander. He is the sweetest little thing.  I was very ready to visit in a few days time, but Mary said to come in over the afternoon, and it was very special. I'm so grateful that I could.

It was just the three of us in the room. Between visiting hours sessions (I crept in through the nurses... he he he!). Nathan opened his blue eyes once or twice, but spent most of his time fast asleep, just like his poor, sore mum.  I giggled at the end when I left and handed Nathan back to Mary when she said, "Thanks for babysitting".

Congratulations Mary and Phil! I can't wait to get to know this new little man.

Omelette from Tobes

Valentines evening views

Yes... that's me... in my particularly gorgeous pjs, on a picnic rug in my backyard. I feel pretty ordinary at the moment. Is it possible that I'm run down? School's just gone back! Toby is being a darling and cooking me an omelette for dinner. He's a pro at the scrambled and omelette eggs- I'm the pro at poached. I'm rambling! It's times like this that I sit back and kind of shake my head. Sure, I don't feel entirely well in my body, but I have very little to complain about. This evening I have a husband inside, cooking me dinner who loves me. I have a beautiful backyard, full of dusk birdsong and a carpet of green grass. I have a God who patiently loves me and thinks I'm a beautiful creation. And this morning my best friend gave birth to a new little boy. I can't wait to see them tomorrow and soak in his newness! It is well... How goes it with you?
